Migration from NPSP to Nonprofit Cloud:

the WHAT, WHY and HOW

The What

Did you know that Salesforce is incentivizing its current NPSP
customers to migrate to NPC by offering a 6-Month free license
window to offset migration costs?

Salesforce has also made clear that product development by Salesforce will be inside Nonprofit Cloud with NPSP support being increasingly limited and no new feature development.
So if you’re a Salesforce NPSP User the question really isn’t IF you should migrate—it’s WHEN do you need to?
If you’ve paying attention to this space you are also asking if the early concerns with Nonprofit Cloud have been sufficiently resolved for this move to make sense?

The How

Migration from NPSP to Nonprofit Cloud. This specifically
involves:

  • Map Current NPSP Module usage to NPC
  • Map Current NPSP Data Model to NPC
  • Review existing business process in NPSP and map to industry standard NPC processes:
    • What is working in the status-quo?
    • What are your pain points?
    • What would we like to see in the future and how can we bridge that gap?
  • Review the state of org data hygiene, examine data entry points to determine root causes
    of core missing fields, determine if new data validations should be introduced
